Sunny View Fire and Rescue is now accepting applications for the position of:


Part-Time and Full-Time Firefighters/EMTs

Starting Rate of Pay: $11.25 per hour

Shift: 12 Hours

Application Process:

Sunny View Fire and Rescue will be accepting applications for the position of part-time & full-time firefighter.  The application process will remain open in order to create a continuous hiring pool for the department. The applications can be dropped off on Monday nights (7pm) 5865 Hwy 9N, Mill Spring, NC 28756. Or emailed to svfr@bellsouth.net A resume must be included with each application.

Position Summary:

Applicants will be required to work on designated shifts and provide fire suppression, emergency medical care and driver operator knowledge, skills and abilities. Applicants will also need to be professional and courteous to the general public and peers. Applicants should possess a strong knowledge of emergency vehicle operations and be capable of adequately managing a fire scene. Applicants should be self-motivated with a strong sense of personal accountability.

Position Requirements:

All applicants must meet the following requirements to be considered for the position:

NC Certified Firefighter I & II
NC Certified EMT-B or higher
At least 21 years of age
Adequate driver operator skills
A valid NC class B driver’s license (Within 3 months of employment date)
NC Emergency Vehicle Driver
NIMS 100, 200, 700, & 800 (Within 2 months of employment date)
NC Haz-mat Operations
2 Years experience preferred
High School Diploma or GED
